Blue/Purple Dragonfly Handbuilt Textured Mug

This mug style has been in the experimental process in my studio for the last year.  I’m always looking for new ways to add depth and texture to my pieces and I’m thrilled with these results!  The base is thrown on the wheel and then the sides are handbuilt out of a textured slab of clay.  I use various techniques like wax and tape resist, underglazes, stamping, staining and slip trailing to achieve the delicious depths of color and texture.  They are made in small batches and of course, no two are completely alike!  It is microwave and dishwasher safe.
