These stoneware mugs are wheelthrown and a spiral line is added with a rib tool when they are still wet on the wheel. The butterfly decoration is added using slip trailing techniques and are drawn on each piece after the handle is attached. The butterflies are hand-painted, carefully waxed and then the mug is dipped in the main glaze color. They are fired twice in an electric kiln and then their bottoms are sanded until smooth to complete the process. Microwave and dishwasher safe.
