Opal Blue and Butterflies Clover Mug

These stoneware mugs are wheelthrown and altered on the wheel while still wet. They have an organic flow in the shape of a 4 leaf clover, hence the name! The butterfly decoration is slip trailed on after the handle is added.  After the first firing, the butterflies are hand-painted with green glaze, carefully waxed and then the mug dipped in the Opal Blue glaze. They are fired again in the electric kiln and the their bottoms are sanded until smooth to complete the process.  All are microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.
